EMRDA wishes to see:

The current socio economic development initiative of Ethiopia improved

 Mission

EMRDA exists to support the country's rural centered development endeavors by complementing the Human resource Capacity building initiative through promoting Basic Education, Vocational training, Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS and Food security programs among poor and needy community groups.

Goal

To support the rural poor and needy communities to get access to Basic Education, Vocational skills, food security, Reproductive Health Service and Civic Knowledge.

Objectives

To Promote Basic Education in inaccessible areas of the country through running Alternative Basic Education programs and constructing formal primary schools

To support self-reliance and sustainable livelihood improvement of Women and youths, who have lost the opportunity of continuing education, through providing vocational skills training

To help alleviate the problem of Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS through promoting Behavioral Change intervention programs.

To support the country's good governance improvement effort through organizing community awareness raising workshops on Democracy, Human Rights and Civic issues.

To help ensure food security through initiating community based income-generating schemes.

To Complement to wards achievability of the endorsed poverty Reduction Strategic Paper (PRSP) and the New Partnership African Development Program (NEPAD)

To improve Human resource and internal Capacity of EMRDA that will ensure the organization's internal strength and external opportunities.

Ethiopian Muslims Relief and Development Association is a legally registered indigenous NGO established in 1994 by a group of dedicated persons to heal the degraded conditions of underprivileged Ethiopians from absolute poverty regardless of sex, ethnicity and religious differences Registered under the Federal Ministry of Justice, and signing operational agreement with the countries Disaster Prevention and Preparedness. Commission (DPPC) and the Regional Line Bureaus EMRDA is operating in Afar, Amhara, Oromia and Addis Ababa Regions. EMRDA strives to bring about sustainable change in the lives of poor and vulnerable groups residing particularly in rural areas of the country.
